Hero offer

Get proof before the next build, pilot, market push, or budget commitment.

Validation Sprint is a short proof and decision checkpoint for teams that need evidence before committing more time, money, roadmap, or reputation to an idea, product, market, or partner opportunity.

The output is not research theater. It is a clearer decision: continue, narrow, reposition, build, pilot, sell, fund, staff, or stop.

Use this when the next move is expensive enough to deserve proof.

  • You have an idea but do not know whether it deserves a build.
  • You are an operator considering whether a domain pain can become a startup.
  • You have an MVP but weak traction or unclear signal.
  • You are preparing for fundraising and need evidence beyond a demo.
  • You are inside a mature company and need proof before asking for budget or roadmap space.
  • You are a fund, syndicate, venture studio, or partner evaluating a thesis.

When this is probably not the right starting point

  • You already have strong customer proof and need a production build. Start with V1 Product Build.
  • You mainly need ongoing engineering capacity. Start with Product Engineering Support or Dedicated Product Squad.
  • You need first customers and already know the product/ICP well enough to sell. Start with First Paying Customers Program.
  • You want generic market research without a decision attached.
  • There is no owner for the decision after the sprint.

What happens during the sprint

  1. Frame the decision

We define what the team needs to decide and what would change if the evidence is strong or weak.

  2. Map assumptions

We identify the riskiest user, buyer, market, workflow, business, or technical assumptions behind the opportunity.

  3. Define proof criteria

We separate weak signal, useful signal, and strong proof so the team knows how to read the evidence.

  4. Design or run the proof path

Depending on scope, this may include interviews, landing page logic, outbound scripts, concierge tests, prototype planning, or market-facing proof assets.

  5. Make the next step explicit

We synthesize findings into a recommendation: continue, narrow, reposition, build, pilot, sell, fund, staff, or stop.

What you get

  • Decision brief: the decision the sprint should support.
  • Assumption map: riskiest user, buyer, market, workflow, business, or technical assumptions.
  • ICP and segment hypothesis: who the idea or initiative is for and why.
  • Problem and urgency map: what pain exists, how urgent it is, and what would trigger action.
  • Proof criteria: what evidence would count as weak, useful, or strong signal.
  • Experiment or proof plan: the smallest credible test sequence.
  • Proof asset outline or lightweight artifact plan: landing page, interview script, concierge flow, demo, prototype, or outreach asset.
  • Evidence memo: what was learned, what remains unclear, and what changed.
  • Recommendation: continue, narrow, reposition, build, pilot, sell, fund, staff, or stop.
  • Next-step path: suggested offer, scope, or no-fit recommendation.

Does this start with discovery?

Usually no separate paid discovery is needed. A fit call and intake are enough because discovery is built into the sprint itself. If the situation is unusually complex, we may recommend a short paid discovery first, but that should be the exception.

Typical timeline

Most Validation Sprints run for 2-3 weeks. The exact sprint shape depends on the decision, available evidence, and how much market-facing proof is needed.
